In May 2015, the British Council published the results of our research study 'English in Peru' presenting an overview of the English language teaching and learning policies throughout the years.
In partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economy and Finance's National Council of Competitiveness we traveled to 10 regions of the country and talked to more than 700 leaders and key stakeholders in the education and corporate sector. These meetings allowed the participants to analyse and reflect on the English language teaching situation in Peru.
In this way, English in Peru was of utmost importance to create dialogue about the importance of establishing a National English Language Policy in the country. It encouraged leaders from different regions to support the implementation of this policy, which was finally established in September 2015 by the Ministry of Education.
